Pickup operates at the design-forward end of the Israeli furniture market. The brief that defined the work was unusual for the category. Every piece had to read as editorial first and as commerce second. Intriguing rather than salesy. Considered rather than retail.
That direction gave us room to treat each shoot as a stand-alone editorial idea rather than a catalogue page. Monthly photoshoots, ongoing campaigns, a calendar designed as a year-long brand touchpoint, an office furniture line campaign, and a series of cultural collaborations all came out of that thinking. The most visible paired Pickup furniture with the Batsheva Dance Company on a rooftop performance, shot as a single piece where the furniture and the dancers shared the choreography.
The work tried to do something the category usually avoids. It put the products into context, often quiet, sometimes loud, and trusted them to carry themselves rather than be sold. That gave Pickup a presence in the conversation around design, which is where their customer actually lives, more than in the conversation around furniture, where they don't.
